Editing out small sections of audio

I am trying to block out some comments captured in a video of a sporting
event, but i can only seem to mute the entire storyboard section that the
comments are in, not the specific 1 or 2 seconds of comments. Is there a way
to do what i am trying to do? Thanks

In Timeline view...split the Audio
(Ctrl+L) before and after the unwanted
comment. After the splits are made...
right click the comment area and
choose Mute from the menu.

Info on splitting:

Play the video/audio by clicking the
"Play" button under the view screen.

You will see the Playback Indicator
(vertical line) advancing across the
timeline.

Click the "Pause" button at the point
where you wish to split and type...
Ctrl+L or click the "Split" button at the
bottom of the view screen.
(you can also make adjustments by
dragging the Playback Indicator)
