I have defined a New Multilevel List (in Word 2007 Enterprise) and need to
make sone modifications. However, whenever I make these changes, the List
reverts to the original formats everytime I Open the files that I would be
working on.

I there some way in which I can make such changes last?

Thanks

Paul

I'm confused with Multilevel lists, too. I hope it isn't bad netiquette to
"piggyback" on your question, but here's my situation. I started with an OCR
scan of a document, saved first as .rtf which I then saved as .docx. It was
an interrogatory with numbered questions, some having sub-questions.
Apparently the OCR picked up different multilevel list styles (maybe because
of the original typing) so now I'd like to just disable the whole automatic
multilevel list program. How can I do that?

Run a macro containing the command:

ActiveDocument.ConvertNumbersToText

Hope this helps.

I basically right-click on one of the numbers/bullets in the list and select
'Adjust List Indents ...' In the 'Define new Multilevel list' facility I try
to adjust the formatting of the number/bullet, alignments, 'start at' number,
and indents. The changes are retained until I close the file in use. When I
re-open the file all changes are lost.

There does not seem to be a feature (or I am missing such a feature), which
retains such changes in the template in use.
