Editing membership in XP pro built-in user groups

I want to remove various groups that are on my computer,
including power users, backup operators, and so on, but
the computer won't let me. it says that changes aren't
allowed to built in groups. Any suggestions?
 
There's not a way to do this that I know of.
What are you looking to do by doing this? The groups
don't do anything if you don't add any user accounts to
them.

Empty the groups and all grants made with them will not
confer rights to any account. Built-ins are built in, as in
built into the system code.
