editing labels in a report loses data

When I create a report it has all the data I need but the labels are not the
right size to show the information. When I edit anything at all I lose most
of the data in the report. Is this a problem with 2003? I downloaded all the
latest updates and it didn't help.
 
I don't think you have given enough detailed information for anyone to
venture a guess. What you describe is not what I have experienced with
Access 2003.

Normally, "labels" are used only to display static information such as
titles of the information, so are not subject to being "edited" at runtime.
TextBoxes are most commonly used to show data on Reports, but, those too,
are not normally edited at runtime.
