Editing a .WAV file?

I have a very large spoken-word audio .WAV file which I would dearly
like to trim to the essentials.

Is there a free .WAV file editor available?

Try Goldwave Visual Audio Editor (http://www.goldwave.com/)
The trialware is supposed to be fully functional, possibly has a 'use by'
date.
I use the full version for all audio editing & it's a very nice prog.
