Ecel Filtering Currency Formatted to AED

I am trying to Filter a list that has one column formatted to Currency style
AED. When I filter the list using the drop down menu for the AED column,
Excel return no values. When I type in a value I am looking for, Excel does
return those values.

I am using an Excel Currency style, why is it doing this?
