Nah, just a sore finger.

Tramp, just a curious question (not regarding your views on freeware,
adware, trialware): How do you go about finding these "freeware" programs?

Just type 'freeware' in Google and continue from there, or what?

Just a little bit curious ;-)

I've done that before. Still do infact. :-) I will use other search
terms as well like

my freeware, my free software, my software, my programs, my freeware
programs, my old software, my new freeware, my new program, download
this freeware program, small freeware, this small program, tiny
freeware, new freeware, no install freeware, no install program, no
install software, standalone freeware, standalone program, standalone
programs, USB programs, USB freeware, etc.

It's all about how you search and what you search for. You can get
different results using different terms and different search engines.

There are some others ways as well.

Someone will post some info about a program on a forum or blog and I
will check it out.

Some friends of mine send me info on programs. All my friends travel is
slightly different Internet circles. There is of course some overlap.

I would get computer magazines that came with cover disks. Some of the
programs on them are new to me. And even if a program is Shareware
there's a good chance that the author also has a few Freeware programs
so I go and check out their sites.

I will be searching for a program (say an address book) and I might
check out some of the usual freeware sites or just try searching for it
in Google. When I go an authors site I will follow any links they have o
other programs/sites and keep doing that. Never can tell where you might
end up. :-)

Keep up the good work. On the whole, I find your posts very useful.
