Frustrated!

How do you delete a blank page!!! I cannot get rid of
the second page that I overran on but edited back to
one. I tried going to the end of the document on the
first page and holding delete down for ages, try
backspacing from the bottom, I turn off the headers and
footers and try it again, but when I put them back the
page is back. I have asked all my secretary friends and
even they don't know. If I print it prints the current
page and a blank. I am stuck with printing current page
or page one only. There MUST be a way! It seems such a
no brainer! I have done a search here, someone else is
obviously having the same problem with no luck either. I
am sure it is a forehead slapper but how do you do it!
Thanks!

Without actually having the document, it's hard to explain, but, what I always do in that situation is copy everything in the document except for the last paragraph marker and paste it into a new document. It usually means there's some kind of corruption in the file and all that information is stored in the last paragraph marker of a document. Unfortunately, you can't delete it, but you can select everything except for that marker and copy it to a new document

Display the document in normal view, with all hidden text displayed. Find
what's causing the extra page:

1. A page or section break.

2. A paragraph with 'page break before' set

3. A blank paragraph that's too large for the space available on the
previous page.

This usually means that either your document runs down to the very bottom
margin of your page or you have additional hard returns, page breaks, etc.
in your document. Since you already got advice regarding the extra
characters, if that didn't work, try this:

1. Make sure you are in Print Layout view (under View menu)
2. Scroll down to the bottom of your document (so you can see the bottom
margin on the left hand side ruler.
3. Drag the margin slightly down in small increments and let go until the
blank page goes away.
4. If you don't have room at the bottom margin, try dragging the top margin
slightly up.

Keep in mind that you need to have enough room at the top and bottom to
handle the print area of your printer.

Good Luck!
