Hi all. I have a VPR Matrix PC, running XP and recently
installed ECDC 6.0. I can listen to CD's fine, I can
watch DVDs fine, but I cannot use the Drag and Drop
functionality or write file(s) to a formatted CD-RW
disc. Each time I reboot the PC, I get a message
informing me that there is a driver problem. Can anyone
help me as to what I should be doing? This is so
frustrating. I don't know if its XP or ECDC 6.0, and
would appreciate anyone's assistance. Thanks everyone.

You aren't specific about the exact wording of the error messages you
are getting, but I had a similar problem getting ECDC 5 Platinum to work
on my VPR Matrix laptop and a little research let me to a patch at
Roxio's website that fixed the problem.

My version 5 now works perfectly (FINALLY!), and given that initial
releases of ECDC have become notorious for being buggy and troublesome
and Roxio slow to publish fixes, I don't dare upgrade to version 6 - you
know, fixing what isn't broken is just asking for trouble, etc.

Having said that, and assuming you are talking about ECDC 6 Platinum,
not Basic, Roxio just 4 days ago published a big, all-inclusive series
of new patches for ECDC 6. I recommend installing them. They contain new
drivers and a new engine. They just might do the trick.

Download them at:

http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/software_updatesv6.jhtml

Also, I disabled Windows XP's own built-in CD burning engine. If you are
using aftermarket software like ECDC, it can get in the way.
