You should make changing colours an animation option in ppt :)
It would be an easy feature to add and would provide immed value...

What PowerPoint version are you using? If you are using PowerPoint 2002/XP
and above, you can make use of Emphasis > Change Font Color to do so.
If you don't want the fade effect, change the speed to 0.01 seconds.
