Years ago, I tried the EarthLink internet service,
needless to say I didn't keep it. But since that time, the
title bar on IE says "Microsoft Internet Explorer provided
by EarthLink Network, Inc.". The IE program, was
preinstalled by Dell when I received my computer, and has
since been upgraded via the web.
Is there anyway I can get rid of the "EarthLink" claim?
Thanks,
Callie

This branding is a customization added by whomever provided your copy of
IE/OE. If your OE is branded, your IE is probably also branded. Removing the
branding requires that you edit the registry. Start > Run > Regedit > hit ok

In Regedit, navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Identities
\{GUID}
\Software
\Microsoft
\Outlook Express
\5.0

In the right-hand pane, right-click on the value WindowTitle and then click
Delete. Or click on Modify and enter the title of your choice.

To remove the branding from IE, navigate to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Software
\Microsoft
\Internet Explorer
\Main

In the right-hand pane, right-click on the value Window Title (note the
blank space) and then click Delete. Or click on Modify and enter the title
of your choice.

To remove the custom logo from IE, navigate to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Software
\Microsoft
\Internet Explorer
\Toolbar

In the right-hand pane, right-click on BrandBitmap and click Delete, then do
the same for SmBrandBitmap.

Hi Callie - To remove Branding, go to Start, choose Run, and type or paste
"rundll32 iedkcs32.dll,Clear" without the quotes. I haven't used it, but
there's also a free program, IEMate, which appears to let you customize
many aspects of IE's appearance/action including the spinning logo that you
might want to take a look at here: http://devicode.com/freeware/iemate.htm
