E rror Code OX 80090006 (Can't check license)

After installing a second SCSI controller with three
existing drives putting two of them on a seperate SCSI
controller I get "A problem is preventing Windows from
accurately checking the license of this computer." Error
Code OX 80090006. This is a volume licensed copy of
Windows not retail needing activation.

I just got the same error. You are not alone. I had my
computer running for a day and decided to restart and
bam, error 0x80090006. I registered and activated my
windows xp. I don't know what else to do. I just
reinstalled XP on my new motherboard. I'm not going to do
it again. Any suggestions
 
Do an inplace upgrade on the machine (reinstall Windows over top of itself)
