e-mailing photos from photos folder - size reduction

I just upgraded to Office 2003 Pro version.

Prior to the upgrade, after selecting one or more photos and clicking on
"email photos," a pop up menu would appear asking me if I wanted to reduce
the size of the photos for easier emailing, or leave file(s) at original size.

Now, I don't get that pop up menu, so the files go in native size (approx.
500-600k). This is way too large for sharing especially if you want to send
2 or more; the old functionality is valuable and useful? Where did it go?

I'm not interested in "permanently" resizing the photos... I just really
liked the option to auto redux for email only. Any suggestions? Is there a
switch that I can flip to make it work again?

==================
Try this, maybe it will restore the option:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

==================

Also, you may find the free powertoy
ImageResizer to be useful:

Go to the following link and download and
install: ImageResizer.exe

http://tinyurl.com/36n

Then you can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures from the menu. You
can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.
(Tip: *Never* overwrite your originals)

BTW...when resizing if you go to...Advanced
Button / Custom...and enter 640 in each field...
that will be a good size for e-mail purposes.

Thank you, John. Yes, that is what it took, and now I have my "reduce photo
file size for email" functionality back.

Marc.

P.S. I also tried the resizer -- saw it in one of your responses on the
site... it installed, but doesn't work... so I'm especially glad for your
post to me this a.m.

Thank you John - I spent a bit of time on this one. I knew there was a run
command as this happened to me before.

I was having the same problem. The email resizer works fine but the tweak
image resizer tool does not. I was using the tweak image resizer tool prior
to upgrading to office 2003 and it worked great after the upgrade I am no
longer able to resize my pictures by right clicking on them.

When I right click on them I get the option to resize just like before but
when I cick on the size I want nothing happens.

I can resize fine when emailing pics but I really wish I was able to resize
using the image resizer.

Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Jimmy
