Hard to say - maybe they have their speakers muted. Are you certain this
is somebody who wants to receive noisy animated e-mails? :-)

What version of Outlook? Windows SP2 broke the ability to insert sound in
Outlook 2003.

but by deleting the e-mail checker on my AVG
(suggested by my ISP as they scan and check my e-mails anyway) one
of my recipients received her e-mail sound and all (grand-daughter's
4th birthday). So at the moment if I want to send sound like that,
I will just disable AVG e-mail checker. But would be interested to
check on the OUtlook I have.

I haven't seen any posts indicating that AVG's mail scanner causes problems
with Outlook, but in general it's usually a waste of time to scan email with
a virus scanner, provided you use your AV program's on-access or real-time
scanner.
