I have 2 computers. One is windows XP and the other is vista. My question is
this...is it possible to view my e-mail accounts on both computers through
windows mail and/or OE and not download them? If it is downloaded on one
computer does that mean I cannot retrieve it through the other computer?

Assuming a POP email account..
You can setup both email programs to leave messages on the server after
downloading, so both can get a chance to download...

Tools - Accounts - youraccount - Properties - Advanced
[x] Leave a copy of messages on server
[x] Remove from server after [xx] days

Do this for all accounts on both computers, although you only need to set
one computer to remove after [xx] days, to keep the server inbox from
filling up.

For most, but not all, email servers, you can set the email programs to
leave
copies of the incoming messages on the server after you download them so
the other computer can get them also.

Under Windows Mail, click on Tools, then Accounts, then your email
account, then Properties, then Advanced. If there is no check mark in the
box before Leave a copy of messages on server, click on this box, then
Apply. It's a good idea to also select one of the methods of eventually
removing the messages from the server, to keep it from having so many
of your messages it starts refusing to accept any more, then click Apply.
Click on OK, then Close.

You'll need to something similar in the other email program.
