Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, non-ISP based e-mail
provider compatible with Outlook (and preferably one that additionally has
webmail access)? My understanding is that certain providers, like Gmail, are
not compatible with Outlook.

Thanks,
Alex

Many people pull their Gmail through Outlook. It's quite compatible, you
just have to set it up correctly.

gmail is compatible although there are some idiosyncrasies. hotmail/live
also works with outlook, either with the outlook connector or via pop3.

Yahoo works with outlook if you pay a small yearly fee.
