e-mail pc to pc on a home network

how can I e-mail from one pc to another on a home network do i need third
party software or will windows have the tools , I have win xp and win me
yours mike
 
You'll need some sort of email product to do that. What we do is just use
web mail accounts (Hotmail). That way I can email any member of my family
and they can see it on any computer.

One solution, which is free, is the "Mercury Mail Transport System"...

http://www.pmail.com/

Would not chat work just as well... Go to "Start -> Run" and type winchat at the command line...I
believe its included in Win Me...
