i have a problem with my e-mail, it says:

The connection to the server has failed.
Account: 'pop.dc1.adelphia.net',
Server: 'pop3.norton.antivirus', Protocol: POP3, Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number:
0x800CCC0E

i'm not sure what to do, please help me

When you have Norton Antivirus to scan every incoming e-
mail it will change your pop3 server configuration to
pop3.norton.antivirus when that's not really your mail
server.
Go to the Tools Menu, E-mail Accounts, View or Change E-
mail Accounts, Select the default e-mail account and click
on change and change you POP3 e-mail account server to
whatever your server is. (this steps are for Outlook 2002
(XP)
Also you might whant to change your hosts files
for windows XP & 2000
C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc
then
find a file called hosts and open with notepad
find this text pop3.norton.antivirus and delete it
if you have any other version of outllok or windows let
me know there are other steps you have to follow

For Norton AntiVirus (NAV) version 2002 and up, they now use a
transparent proxy which does not change the settings in the e-mail
account. If the server settings are getting changed in the e-mail
account when you enable virus scanning on email then you are using an
old version of NAV.

Stacy, what version of Norton AntiVirus do you have? Note that Ysaias'
solution will only work if you FIRST disable email scanning in NAV.
Otherwise, you will change it to the actual names for your mail servers
and NAV may change them right back.
