E-mail download status at the bottom of the page

I need to click the send/receive button to get e-mails to download. I used
to have a message on the bottom of the page which showed the status i.e. 50%
complete. That is now gone and I don't know how to get it back. We've used
some accessibility features recently and they seemed to have "covered up" the
area where the message used to be.

What version of Outlook and if 98 or 2000, what mode?

After furious head scratching, BurnsvilleNancy asked:

I am also experiencing a similar problem.
I am running Outlook 2003 (11.6359.6408) SP1 ... latest as of TODAY (APR
17/05) based on Office Updates.
When I SEND/RECEIVE emails, either manually by pressing SEND/RECEIVE button
or automatically (Outlook intiates)... I will most times see the SEND/RECEIVE
download status partially. What do I mean? I have screen captures I can
email to you. But basically, the first part of the download status message
is truncated. For example, "f 99.5 KB) [][]v" where "[][]" is two folders
icon and "v" is status pull-down arrow. If I switch to Outlook Today view,
it may correct itself. If I switch back to Inbox view, it reverts back to
shortened version. But this is never consistent. I also find that if I
start Outlook and I wait for about 1 minute, then click SEND/RECEIVE, then I
don't have the problem. This problem will usually occur later during the
Outlook session... again, occurs if switching views/folders often.

To me, it seems like Outlook is having a problem with displaying the view.
I have noticed in the lower status bar that there are dividers "|" that seem
to move depending on the view, especially when downloading emails. When
sending/receiving, the divider bar to the left of the download status area
appears to move too far to the right. I have been unsuccessful to find how
to reset Outlook views.

Need more information?
Any thoughts as to how to resolve?
Thanks... Grant
