dynamic disk?help reqd

i have bought a new pc.the pc is powered by windows 2000 that came
along with the pc.this windows installation has made my hard disk
dynamic.now i wish to install linux.i tried to resize the partition.but
i cannot resize it with partition magic utility. what shd i do now.shd
i format completely & install windows from cd other than the one that
was given by the supplier of the PC,and then istall linux

This is an XP OS group. You mention win2k and linux. Post to an
appropriate group for those OS.
