For no obvious reason, I started getting an error message when I shut down
WinXP. The message is only on-screen for less than a second so I've been
unable to catch it all, but (probably paraphrased) it says that "DWWin.exe
failed to initialise because Windows is shutting down".
It may be that this started after automated error reporting to MS when FS9,
and later WinXP, said that they 'had to shut down' but I did not notice it as
following immediately, nor did it immediately follow any installation or
update.
Part of me doesn't care because because other sites I've seen say this is
benign but any error makes me wonder what is behind it and what it might be
hiding. I am also afraid that some important error message may come up in the
future and I will dismiss it thinking it is this one again. Besides, I've
spent a load of money on this machine and I want it to work properly!
Any suggestions how to clear this?
Thanks
