I am trying to put together a PowerPoint presentation for my mom's 70th birthday and would like to burn it on a CD that will play in a DVD player. Is this possible?

Not directly from within PowerPoint. There are emerging third party
products available that you can find by doing a search on PowerPoint DVD in
google.com. Or you can capture the presentation as a video and then burn to
a VCD or DVD. See

I downloaded the trial version of Powerpoint-to-DVD, burned a miniCD but it would not play on my DVD player. Will this only work with the registered version?

I had the same problem with the registered version. I have two different
DVD players and was told that neither had been tested when they tested the
software. I told them that the DVD and CD did not work in my players. They
asked me to test them again. I gave up. <G>
