Sounds to me like either all your CDs/DVDs are defective or the
drive/connection to the mainboard is fried... You need to contact the
hardware manufacturer.

My guess is that the DVD drive itself is toast. At least, you can fix such
a problem for a reasonable cost.
The only real fix for a motherboard problem is a new computer; every thing
else is not cost effective.

The OP should verify that his disks can be read on another machine.
The OP should run the manufacturer's diagnostics. If these fails, the drive
is quite likely to be toast.
The OP should examine the connection between the drive and the motherboard
(which may be far from easy).

I disagree about everything else not being cost effective - especially *if*
the laptop is under warranty.

As it seems to be - if the model number is correct and the link I gave
previously was the laptop in question - because it comes with Vista and
almost all *new* laptops worth anything come with a minimum of one year
warranty. If this laptop came with Vista - it should fall within that time
frame.

The manufacturer diagnostics should be ran. Most systems (particularly
laptops) come with a full partition that can be booted to and tests run
from - eliminating the Operating System as the issue almost instantly.

thank you sooo much :)
