DVD Region settings

Ok, I recently bought a music DVD online from an American website and not
surprisingly they sent me an American DVD...but I live in England so the
Region things are all different. I played the DVD the first time on my PC
(Windows XP) and it worked fine and it stayed in the player for a long time.
Then when another member of the family wanted to watch an English DVD it
changed the settings back to whatever region the English one is. So then when
I went to play my DVD again i realised it wouldnt work because I'd used up
all the changes. Any ideas how I could sort the problem out? i.e. get the
changes back or get unlimited changes? Thanks!

I think the only thing you can do is to flash the drive's firmware, but this
is quite a risky action, because if you do it wrong, you could be left with
an unusable drive.

Perhaps invest in some software that masks the region of your drive, such
as:

http://www.dvdregionmaster.com/
 
Hi,

The settings can be changed maximum 5 times. And after that it sticks to the
last regional code set in.

There is no way to get out of it except go for another player and check if
there is the option to change the settings.

There are also players available which are "all regions" & not expensive.
I bought one 6 months ago for only abt $US45
