Hi

I am using Windows XP home edition 5.1 srvice pack1. I have DVD which plays
in my DVD player, but on my computer there is no files on the DVD when I use
explore and the properties show that it is empty. Why?

Hello,
I once faced a similar issue.
A few other possibilities that could be the reason (apart from Copyrights as
replied earlier by a member) why the DVD plays on your stand alone player &
not optical drive are:
1. What is the DVD brand (media)?
2. If it’s a burnt (R) DVD, than what software was used to burn it in the
first place. People at times, do have a problem accessing such DVDs,
especially if ULEAD software has been used. Such DVDs play fine on stand
alone players, but have issues with certain brand optical drives.
3. Region codes could be interfering in accessing this specific DVD on your
optical drive.
A few practical thoughts that might help.
Regards!

Copy protection makes DVDs that can play in home player unable to play in
a
PC's DVD drive.
Commercial DVDs around my house work on both the player for my TV and the
player for my PC. Perhaps the OP is trying to play a DVD that has the wrong
region code.
