DVD codec recommendation

I've been looking and can't seem to find a good free DVD codec. Can anyone
recommend a good free program?

hi go to www.divx.com and download the player and bundle for your system. for
windows xp it includes a free burner. please post back so others can refer to
this posting to get the latest in free dvd software and burners.
