DVD, CD recorders no longer work

Although both recorders say they are working properly and are enabled,
nothing happens. They neither read or write. Should I uninstall them then
reinstall or what?

Have you recently changed or uninstalled any Burning Software ? A
common issue with Optical recorders is remnant "Upper/Lower Filter"
drivers that cause issues.
