DVD Burner

When I go to my computer and right click on my dvd burner and select
properties, i dont get the recording tab. I have recordnow 4.6. Is there a
way to get that tab back?

If you had third party CD recording software, the Windows XP CD Burning
feature should be disabled. However, if you still want to enable this:

1. Click Start - Run - type REGEDIT and press Enter key.
2. Expand To:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

3. In the right-side pane, check for Dword value name "NoCDBurning". Double
click the entry and set the value to 0. If the Dword entry doesn't exist then
right-click in empty area and point to New - DWord value - name it
"NoCDBurning". Double-click and set the value to 0.
4. Log Off and Log In again for changes to take effect.

It didnt work. Its not that its disabled, it's just the tab isnt there.

It was not available in my case either but after changing the Registry Entry
and restarting it is now available. Check this out:

You need to check the following entries in your registry too.

Still no luck. I have a sony dvd rw dru-810a. Does that have any difference?

One more thing you need to check:

1. Click Start - Run - type SERVICES.MSC and press Enter key.
2. Scroll down to IMAP CD Burning and ensure that it is set to Automatic and
Started.
