I will keep looking thru this group. But this is
happening top me on my laptop and home computer and work
computer. I have Outlook 2003 ot work and on my laptop.
Outlook 2000 at home. It is driving me nuts. I have just
changes host for the business and made sure I did not
have forwarders. but it continues.

A few additional notes to the duplication problem. I
download email to all three computers. I have my settings
det to save on the server for 10 days and delete when
placed in, and deleted from "deletion file".

I have checked the "rules" to make sure there is not a
forwarding "loop" of some sort. I do use the rules to
place personal mail in personal folders. Webmaster mail
in it's own folder. etc.

I have checked the website host server and there are no
forwarders.

I have several e-mail addresses set up to download
including my home e-mail. Some are from the same pop3
account at the host that I keep my business web site on.
(bcentral).

This problem was beginning to occure before I transfered
to the new host last week.

It is occuring in both MS Outlook 2000 and 2003

Could this be some sort of e-mail duplication virus?

????????

Are you getting duplicates in each copy of outlook? When you say you have
multiple addresses on the server, does each one have their own separate
username and password they use to collect mail?

Duane, Thanks for the response.

Each address has its own username (different email
addresses) on the host server and each has a password.
However, for simplicity sake, I use the same password for
all of them.

I have been wondering??? I have them all set to download
e-mail every 5 minutes and saty on the server 10 days. Is
it possable that the multiple computers downloading the
email in close intervals is causing the problem?

Raise it to 10 min on all machines - the least used ones could be set for
something like 12 and 13 min - the messages aren't tracked until outlook
sends a quit command and if another instance of OL kicks one off, it will
messes things up.

Are all these computers on one network? if so, you should look into getting
an imap server to run locally - let it download mail every xx min and
outlook can read the local cache. You can use the insightconnector to share
calendar and contacts too. There are several free or low cost ones available
and most/all should run on any os, even win98.

Hmm.. I havce recently uploaded my business contacts to bcentral, but find that each single entry in Outlook 2003 creates 2 or more entries in the bcentral contacts? Why on earth is this?
