Duplicate personal folders

I just got a new machine that came with Office 2003, now
I have a problem with Outlook. For some reason I have
multiple "personal folders" listed and I can not close or
delete them. When a new email is received it is added to
all five of the personal folders listed. How can I
remove these personal folders? I've done a lot of
reaserch and I havent been able to locate a solution.

Go to Control Panel, doouble click on MAIL, create a new
profile...make sure you know where the *.pst file is
saved...
 
I've got the same problem, and that doesn't really fix
it. Now I have several folders in my view that do not
work, and one or two that do. How do I get rid of the
ones that don't work?
