Duplicate file names

Files with the same name exist in multiple folders. The files may (or
may not) contain the same data. How can I locate only files with the
same names?
 
there are several programs (shareware included) which will do that. Do a
google search. however, be careful. Some programs insist that a file be in
the program's directory, thus sometimes the same file may reside in multiple
locations and also be needed in those multiple locations. Also, while a
file name may be the same, the file version may be different.
