Since the middle of August all emails received are being
duplicated. We delete them from the inbox then empty the
deleted items folder. The next time we log on to OE, all
of the emails comes back. I have already unchecked
the "keep emails on server". I should mention that this
is a POP3 account. I have gone to the email server
online and the duplicates are not residing there. I have
run anti-virus and spyware and nothing. Any suggestions?

Do you use Hotmail by any chance? If you do:

Tools>Options>General tab. Uncheck either: When starting, go directly
to my Inbox folder or, Send and receive messages at startup.

Hi -
This is a Windows XP newsgroup. You will probably get a faster and more
expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

If you're accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services Community Newsgroups web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number.

A good website for information on OE is:

If you are using Hotmail, turn off the option to include Hotmail in
Send/Receive. If that doesn't help, nor apply: Close OE and do a search
(Start/Search) for Pop3uidl.dbx and delete it. It will be recreated.
