Duplicate Devices Listed in Device Manager

Under Processors in Device Manager I have two Identical Processors
listed. Both Property windows say the are operating normally and
System Information identifies my computer as a dual processor system.I
only have one processor in my machine. Can I safely uninstall one of
them? I Have WinXP Pro
 
I believe that the Intel Pentium 4 processors with Hyper Threading will show
up as 2 processors.

Do you ever think before putting fingers to keyboard?! Or do you just type
the first thing that pops into your skull? He should leave them well alone,
as his computer may not function properly if he attempts to remove one as he
has a hyperthreaded P4 processor. In future, please do a little research
before you post something that could cause someone to damage their system.

Bite your tongue. If he doesn't have HT (which he should have said/I should
have ask) then it won't matter. And even if he does, the computer will
re-recognize it, and add it again. Therefore, it shouldn't damage his
system (and if it does then there's a deeper problem.) Maybe *you* should
be careful what you say. Please do a little research.
BTW, BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Nice cut and paste with the generic response to someone
