Sometime back I had a problem with my outlook.pst file and after much
rigamarole got it back again without losing too many messages. However, in
the process, I somehow have come up with two Calendars and two Contact lists
when I view the folder list. I can open any and all of them, but only one
of each shows up in my "today" view. How do I go about getting rid of the
extra folders? Thank you.

Can you right click on the root of the extra folders and choose "Close"?

"Root"? If I right-click the original calendar folder there is no "move,
delete or rename" - these are greyed out. On the new calendar folder I get
those. There is no "close" for the right-click menu on the file drop-down
menu either..

If you look at the folder list, there should be a tree with something at the
top of it... that's the root I'm referring to.

Okay: I have folder list view open. At top, the first entry is "Outlook
Today - [Personal Folders]". Below that and indented are all the folders I
have created for sorting my inbox and the standard folders for Tasks, Notes,
Calendar, Calendar1, Contacts, Contacts1 (the 1's are the second folders for
those items). If I right-click the Outlook:Today item, it only shows :close
outlook today and is greyed out and there is no other close listing.

OK, so can you right click on the Calendar1 & Contacts1 folder and Delete
them?

Yes, Contacts, no problem. Unfortunately Calendar1 is the one I want to
keep. It has a more complete list of appointments than the other. I guess
I'll either live with them or try to find the time to change the one.
Thanks.
