Dear all

This is my problem. Yesterday the Xp suddelny refused to go on and neither f8 nor recovery console helped me. I decided to setup again my XP with not a clean installation. That causes to have 3 boot options a) XP normal, b)XP again the old one c) the recovery console. The problem is that the (b) XP doesn't work, the system hungs up. So here are my 2 questions :
1) Is it able to recover all the other programms (offce etc). Can i avoid new isntallations of them?
2) How can i delete the bad XP wit respect to the above question???

Hope to help me, thanks by now!

If you wish to use Option a) (the newly installed version of WinXP) then you
must reload all your applications.

To delete Option b) (the old version), you must identify where it is
installed. Here is how you can do it:
- Launch WinXP Option a).
- Start a Command Prompt.
- Type this command:
type c:\boot.ini
- Locate the bad installation, and make a note of the folder name. It is
probably
"partition(1)\windows".
- Rename c:\Windows to c:\Windows.bad
- Wait a week.
- If all is well, delete c:\windows.bad
