Hi when i start my computer up i get a prompt.

choose which windows xp installation you would like to
run. ( it gives you 30 seconds to decide).

How do u get rid of 1 of the choices so it will startup
properly

Thanks in Advance

Doug

Hi Doug,

Does one not work? Start/run msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab and click
"check all boot paths". It will offer to remove the invalid one.

You need to edit the Boot.ini file to remove one of the options. The
following article shows the step by step instructions for accomplishing
this. Read the entire article first and make sure that you perform a back up
of the Boot.ini file before proceeding.

I have noticed on every single PC I do a clean install od XP on I get
that double entry in boot.ini immediately after the reboot following
applying SP1 or KB824146 patch (I don't recall which does it). Anyone
know why this happens?
