Anyone having this "problem"
When XP Starts, 2 instances of MSN Messenger start. (6.1.0211) which I want
to keep and an earlier version (4.7???) How do I uninstall the earlier
version. It is not in the "Add/Remove" program list.
No a big deal, but it bugs me. Especially when I think I am logged out of
MSN Messenger and I get an IM while I'm playing a game.

Thanks in advance!

Looks as if you have both Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger running.
Windows Messenger is the default chat program included in XP, which can be
updated at WinUpdates.com, and MSN which is a totally and separately
installed program.

Which one do you want to get rid of?

IF MSN. uninstall it through the Add/remove Prgorams in the Control Panel.

If Windows Messenger, then that is not uninstallable by default, but can be
removed. Go here for ways to "not" have it in use at all:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_m.htm

And scroll down to "Messenger".

To add on to what Tom said..

1). Go to ControlPanel-AddOrRemovePrograms-Add/RemoveWindowsComponets
2). Scrowl down all the way to the bottom and u should see Windows Messenger.

This is only if U would like to get rid of Windwos Messenger, Which comes
with XP, (like tom said)
