My dual boot menu is screwed up and I would like to edit it. I could also
eliminate it, if possible.

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Peter Studt

Edit the file Boot.ini under your hard drive. Delete the line with the OS
that you don't want. Be very careful doing this because you can seriously
screw up the computer if you mess up. Another way to edit the boot menu is
to right click on My Computer and go to Properties. Click on the advanced
tab and go to Settings under Startup And Recovery This lets you select the
Default one to load and the time to display the boot menu.

There was no boot.ini file, but I did change the default boot os using your
suggestion.

Thanks.

You have to change your settings by clicking Tools:Folder Options and click
the tab view, and uncheck the box that says hide protected operating system
files. Then you will be able to see boot.ini You can edit this file with
notepad

You can also edit it from Contol panel. Click the system icon in control
panel. next clickt he Advanced tab. in the advanced window click the
settings button in the startp and recovery section. Once the sttings window
opens click the Edit button in the system startup section. You will now be
able to edit the boot ini file.
