Hello,

I have Windows XP on my Primary(Master) Hard Disk, and
just installed Windows 2000 on Primary Slave Disk. Now
Windows 2000 Works fine, but XP Doesn't boot up. I get the
following error: "Windows 2000 could not start because the
following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
\CONFIG\SYSTEM."

Microsoft has referred to this issue in Article 283433.
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=283433). Does anyone
have a work around for this problem. Thank you.

Take a look at the C:\boot.ini file on the WinXP system. If
it has a reference to more than one OS in the line(s) following
"[operating systems]", remove the reference to the other OS
by removing it or by putting it 2nd in the list and commenting it
out with a "[" at the beginning of the line and a "]" at the end of
the line. Then boot up each OS by putting its hard drive at the
head of the boot sequence in the BIOS - no special multi-boot
software necessary.
