Dual-boot setup installation using DriveImage?

I'd like to do a dual-boot installation of Windows XP Professional
(i.e. two times Windows XP) on an NTFS disk using DriveImage.

Is it possible to achieve this as follows:

1) Create two partitions
2) Install, configure and register/activate Windows XP in partition 1
3) Install DriveImage in partition 1 and create an image file
4) Restore the image file to partition 2

Will this work, i.e., will I get Windows XP's dual-boot menu as the
result? Could this lead to registration/activation problems (technical
and/or legal)?

(I'm aware that 1) in many situations such a setup is not required and
2) that there are other ways to do it. I just want to know if it is
possible to use DriveImage for such a "cloning" procedure. Thanks.)

Your license to use Windows XP permits you to
install one copy of Windows XP on one computer.
A second installation of Windows XP, installed on
the same computer, will require another license.

In order to successfully activate Windows XP for the second
installation, you'll need to purchase a second license (Product Key).
The Windows XP license agreement only permits one installation
of Windows XP on one computer with each Product Key.

Read your Windows XP End-User License Agreement:

Start > Run and type: WINVER , and hit enter.

Also, open XP's "Help and Support" and type: EULA
and click on "Questions and Answers about the
End-User License Agreement".

I understand and respect the concept of "one copy per CPU" - as "do
not use it on more than one CPU". But to require purchase of a second
license in a setup where it is physically impossible to use the first
one is bordering the bizarre ...

OK, so let's forget it.
