I have two hard drives, D: has ME on it and D: has XP on
it. I'm ready to wipe out my C: drive and the ME
operating system and just use XP. When I disconnect my
old C: drive and make the old D: (with XP) my master
drive; I get an error on boot of "ntldr file missing".
I've read up some on the ntldr error and the purpose of
boot.ini. I'm not sure the best way to proceed. Can
someone please advise. Thanks.

Hi,

What is happening is that your C: drive has the boot
partition which then loads XP or ME.

Have a look at the file C:\boot.ini (hidden system file)
and this will show you how your machine boots up.

Personally I would save all my data and reinstall from
scratch. This will be easier in the long run.

Regards,

Tim
