Hello,
I just got an HP Pavilion dv6653cl laptop for my wife for Christmas.
I know nothing about vista, but I would like to get XP or Win2000 on
it also, as some of her work apps will no doubt not work on vista. I
am not sure if this comes with a Vista DVD.
I have heard of problems getting XP to run on vista systems. I am not
concerned about sound. I just need it to run for her work apps.
Can this be done, and what will I need to do this.
Thanks,
SRV

There are a number of ways to get Windows XP on your system, you can setup
an additional partition and install it on it or you install it in a Virtual
Machine program such as Virtual PC 2007.

This guide by APC will show you how to install XP with Vista installed
first, the same would apply to Windows 2000 if that is what you decide to go
with.

Okay, now that I have the box open, It doesn't come with a vista DVD.
It has a partition for HP recovery. From the research I've been doing,
it would seem that I need a vista DVD to repair the boot log after
installing win xp. Can I burn an image of this recovery partition to
a DVD ?
