What cables do I purchase to transfer data from a windows
98 SE laptop with one serial port to a xp stand alone
with several usb's and one serial
 
U can use RS232 serial port data transfer cable for your purpose only if ur not bothered for the transfer speed. I would go for 100Mbps LAN connection for bulk transfers, for this u will need NIC cards on both of ur PCs and a crossover RJ11 cable for physical link between the two ends

I think you meant RJ45 crossover cable. Just wanted to clarify.
