I am running XP Home and have a DSL connection via router - there are 2 other
computers connected to it. Both are Macs and neither are having any problems.
I just installed a lot of protection software - previously I had none. I am
now using AVG 7, Spybot, Ad-Aware, CW Shredder, and ZoneAlarm - all freeware
downloaded 2 days ago. The problem I am now experiencing is when I wake up
from standby mode. For some reason I cannot connect to the Internet. The
control panel says I am connected, and I have tried the repair button as well
as the command line ipconfig/release and renew fix, but the only thing that
works is to restart the computer. Any ideas what happened and how to wake up
my computer without losing the connection each time? I had no problems
before installing the new software and wonder if it could be related. I have
only been connected to the router for 2 weeks and only once had this problem.
Now it happens almost every time
