J Joseph Johnson May 23, 2007 #10 I have no trouble with Verizon dsl. Unplugged the RJ45 cable from my XP box, plugged it into the Vista Basic laptop, nothing happened. Powered down and rebooted i.e., cold boot, and Vista instantly made the connection.
