DropDownList Error

Hi all
Can anyone help me ot solve this error
Value of type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.ListItem' cannot be converted to string

I'm passing like this
'DropDownListName.Items(DropDownListName.SelectedIndex

DropDownListName.Items(DropDownListName.SelectedIndex) refers to an object
of type System.Web.UI.WebControls.ListItem. Likely you are using it in an
expression expecting a string.

Try:
DropDownListName.Items(DropDownListName.SelectedIndex).Value
or
DropDownListName.Items(DropDownListName.SelectedIndex).Text

(can't remember which :-s)
