Drop down window is locking up

I just received and setup a new Dell with XP. Upon importing the pst file
for outlook, the drop down window to browse for the file starting blinking.
It blinks about 20 times, and then outlook stops responding.

To go around this problem, I used the folder with the up arrow instead of
the drop down arrow.

So, it is now installed at the users workstation, and she wanted to show me
an excell file, she went to file open, and hit the down arrow, and the same
thing happened. It started blinking, lasted about 20 times and then locked
up.

This is my 10 machine with XP and nothing even close to this has happened
before. Any Ideas?????

Maybe someone else will have the definitive answer for you, but I think
that since this is a new machine you ought to just call Dell and have
them replace it ASAP. It could be a hardware issue with the video card
or the graphics bus, so why mess around?
