My OEM doesn't have the acpi.sys hotfix that is mentioned
in KB839876. Microsoft wants me to go there or their
premium support. Can anybody out there help? Thanks,

Thanks for getting back to me. The kb says that there is a hotfix available but where can I download it? Thanks
 
You have to call MS - tell them you want to obtain hotfix whatever and
the call will be free. They'll then direct you to a one-time password
protected download.
