driver_irql_not_less_or_equal problem....

A Bit Stupid Then

my pc crashed giving the above message, i have tried the various solutions i
have found on the net and they don't help.

i have re-installed xp (up-date option) by booting from cd, but it still
gives the same problem
if i remove the 2 mem sticks (256k each) and only use one at a time, i still
have the same problem (had to re-register with MS as my hardware profile
changes)
if i boot in safe mode the pc works as well as pc's do in safe mode

i have also installed xp on my d drive and it loads and works okay with any
programs working as should

q/
any ideas

thanks, but i just booted to the d drive and deleted the windows and prog
file dir's from the c drive and re-installed xp onto the c drive (not
looking forward to re-installing all my progs though) all appears to be fine
so far

p.s.
any ideas on how to get rid of the 2 xp selection menus at boot so that i
just have the one for the c drive showing?
