Hi Yaron,

Make sure that you have all inf and files and binaries used by them present in your image. Better said you will have to find MS
components that include these files and to add them to your build.
If you can attach inf file to this thread so we can look at it.

Also you might want to delete setupapi.log and then try to install driver by new hardware wizard. After the failure examine this
file.

Best regards,
Slobodan

Hi,

I'm installing a driver for a usb-crypto-key. I do it manually by pointing
to the folder with the INF and .sys file.
in a XPpro machine it goes right. in the XPe it says " A service
installation
section in this INF is invalid." and finish the "new hardware wizard" with
error.
I made sure that the INF file is copied to the INF folder, and the .sys file
is in the system32\drivers
but still, nothing works. any ideas?

thanks,

YaronM

Yaron,

Do you have "Smart Card Reader Driver Library" and "USB Root Hub" components
in your image?

You may want to check (or attach) setupapi.log for more details on the
error.

Thank you KM!! the "Smart Card Reader Driver Library" did it. I didn't
even tried it 'cause it was hidden in less then 1000 visiability,

it's now 6 o'clock in the morning- I've been up all night to solve this
urgent problem..

I'm going to sleep :))

many thanks KM and Slobodan for your helpful tips,

YaronM
